This course of instruction consists of both classroom instruction and practical exercises. This course is designed to enhance the capabilities of airport police, security personnel and other security type officers in recognizing suspicious behaviors that may be indicative of a coming attack. The students will learn how and why the human body works the way it does and how stress manifests itself so that it is apparent to the trained individual. The students will learn how to detect normal from abnormal behavior among the travelers at an airport, school, café, or bus station or other place and how to confirm or refute such observations. They will learn what tactics they can employ that will increase the likelihood of detecting such behaviors and the type of notification system / actions that should be in place to follow-up on such detections. A series of case studies will be used to document how each of the skills was used to stop or at least mitigate attacks on international airports around the world. Students will participate in a series of drills and exercises designed to enable them to practice what they have learned during the training program. This course will provide the foundation from which to modify our security capabilities at airports. All training is performance-based-training to insure that the participants are absorbing the instructional material by evaluating their ability to successfully put the theory into practice.

Candidate Requirements:

Candidates should be a sworn police officer or current member of the military.
