Medical Training /Tatical Medicine

Prerequisites for entering the course

tudents must have completed their basic military or Police certification course (foreign students must possess a working knowledge of English). Completion of the Basic Medical Course is highly recommended.

Certifications upon Completion

Students will be proficient in all spects of emergency first aid in a tactical environment. Students will receive accreditation and certification from the American Health & Safety Institute (ASHI) for First Aid and CPR (if not previously certified), as well as a Tactical Medic diploma from Tactical Solutions International, Inc. (USA). Revalidation of medical skills are required every 2 years to maintain currency. Course will provide 4 medical Continuing Educational Units (ceu’s).

Course Overview:

This is a 40 hour course and will consist of lecture, practical exercises and formal evaluation. All student handouts, workbooks and textbooks will be provided. Major topic areas include:

 

  • Review of basic medical procedures
  • The role of the Tactical Medic
  • Equipment and medical supplies
  • Employment in tactical situations
  • Chemical, biological and Nuclear protocols
  • Advanced treatments for gunshot, stab and blast injuries
  • Mass Casualty exercises
  • Medical Planning for contingencies
  • Introduction to Tactical Weapons
  • Introduction to Special Tactics and Techniques
  • Full mission profile, live fire medical exercise in a tactical environment
