This course of instruction can only be attended by those students who have successfully completed the Basic Sniper Marksmanship Training Course or a course of similar content. The course consists of both classroom and range training exercises. This course has been developed to further prepare the students to react properly and effectively in long-range accurate-fire shooting situations. The students will learn how to correctly position themselves in a sniper hide according to the situation and surrounding environment. They will learn how to disguise themselves, move stealthily and how to construct a sniper’s hide under a variety of conditions. They will learn how to collect and report information gained from their position to the command center. Students will learn how to estimate range correctly. They will learn how to employ extremely long-range accurate fire onto a target from distances out to 1000 meters. They will learn how to employ all sniper tasks during a variety of low-light conditions. They will learn what to expect when firing through various mediums such as glass, metal or plastics. At the end of this course of instruction the students will have become more effective snipers who can operate under any conditions and be ready for any actual sniper situations they may face up to 1000 meters in the performance of their job.
Candidate Requirements:
A candidate for this course should be a sworn police officer in good standing in his department, a military soldier or some other official government agent recommended for the course. The candidate must be in good health and possess the proper learning attitude. They must have successfully completed the Basic Sniper Marksmanship Training Course or a similar program.
